about
Greetings my name is Shane and I am a graduate of SUNY Orange Middletown NY. I have a degree in New Media/Photography. I am also a retired NYPD Detective and an Army veteran.
I have been doing photography most of my adult life, on an amateur basis, mostly family and some landscape shooting. So one day I thought "why not go to school for it", I love photography.
I studied New Media (digital film and photography) and was able to customized my course to include more photography classes.
I find that photography is not just something I love, but also therapeutic. When I shoot I can lose myself in the creativity and let the everyday problems fade away. I concentrate on landscape, wildlife and artistic portraiture. I love to turn my portraits into black and white and have a heavy play on light and shadow.
I try and hold myself to a high standard of shooting. I am definitely my own worst critic.
When I'm not behind a camera I enjoy Scuba diving, reading (Fiction, Science and Technology), riding my Harley,outdoor activities, cooking, and travel.
